And in the most basic form, just having a keyword in your content is great. If you are writing an article about a new restaurant to be opened, you can use your keyword in your title and the word in your meta description. If your website is about a new restaurant, for example, your title may say, “The new Boston Fudge” and your meta description says, “The new Boston Fudge will be famous for its unique combination of creamy desserts and sweet flavors.
The other important aspect to SEO, and one that is often overlooked, is the keyword density of your title and meta description. If your title or meta description has a lot of keywords in them, then your search engine will treat them as an important part of your page. When a user searches for a certain word, the search engine will only return your website if it includes a certain keyword in its title or description.
To use this effectively you need to read a few SEO books/articles and get a few of your keywords in the title and meta description. There is a great trick that I learned recently that you probably didn’t know, but it’s something that every SEO should know. It’s called the “keyword anchor” technique. Basically, your keywords and the words that they identify should be in the same place on your page.
The same is true for the meta descriptions. They should be aligned with the keywords that your search engine is looking for. If you search for the keyword “diamonds”, the meta description of your website should contain the words “Diamonds.
So if you make your keyword meta descriptions the same as the keywords your search engine is looking for, you’ll be far more likely to rank for those keywords. Now that’s a great trick for SEOs and you should always take advantage of it.
So now you know how to use meta descriptions to optimize your website. Now you have to figure out how to make them stand out from all the other websites on the internet. We’re not the first to do this, and we’re not the last, so check out our How to Make SEO-Friendly Meta Description page.
Search engines don’t have an easy way to tell the difference between meta descriptions and their own description. Instead, they use the description as a guide to help search engines know what a search engine is looking for. It often also provides additional information to the search engine about the site itself, so that they can rank it higher.
