A few years ago, our website was ranked #1 among all of the top websites in the country for most organic search traffic. I am glad to say that we have surpassed that mark. We work very hard to ensure that all of our clients get high quality, organic traffic.
In search engine rankings, there are three general categories of content: primary content, secondary content, and tertiary content. The primary content of websites is what is most important to the searcher and is the content that is ranked at the top. Secondary content on these pages is where the search engines find information they can use to help the user make a more informed decision about a particular topic. Tertiary content on these pages is important because these pages can also be the result of secondary content.
One of the first things to notice about any website is the primary content (i.e. the content that is the most important to the searcher). If you’re reading this article, the content you’re reading is likely the most important content you’ll ever read. This content is what we call primary content because this is what is the most important to your reader. If your reader has little to no knowledge about a certain topic, that’s the content you will most likely read.
In the case of the web, we call this the “primary content” because it’s usually the most important. The problem is, a lot of search engines (and websites in general) do not index the primary content to begin with.
The problem with web search is that they are biased towards links, and that means that the most important pages get the best ranking in a search engine. When you do an analysis of how many times a search engine ranks a certain page, the majority of pages rank high in the top ten. Because of this, the most important pages get the most traffic and thus get the most attention. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Search engines also give preferential treatment to pages that are on the second page of keywords. On the other hand, the most important pages are often the ones with the most links. So the goal of SEO is to rank the most important pages first.
As it turns out, the only thing that makes Google more important than other search engines is the fact that it decides which pages get ranked higher based on the authority of these pages. We’ve come up with a new term to describe these pages: authority pages. The first is the page with the highest PageRank, and the second is the page with the highest link-rank.
Because people have trouble knowing which pages to trust, Google decided that if a page has a high PageRank and a high Link Rank, it deserves to be the first page to be crawled by Google. The same goes for sites with many, many links all over the web.
One of the reasons Google was looking at linking sites for authority, is because the idea is that websites with high PageRank and high Link Rank should be able to show up in search listings. This gives websites like ours a little extra edge in the rankings.
Google’s algorithm is currently “tweaking” this, and some websites might now have high PageRank and high Link Rank and still not show up in the search listings. We’re still working on this. In the meantime, if you have a high PageRank and high Link Rank and you’re not getting ranked in the search listings, take the time to make your website as good as it can be.
