But I think the best Ive gotten is some kind of “I hate dogs” one. I think it might be an odd combination of a dog joke and a dog reference.

This isn’t to say you can’t write about your dog, but it’s not a very effective way to convey your love for your dog. I think the best you could do would be to write about the dog in your life. To say that you love your dog and hate the dog in your life is one thing, but to write a book about your dog is another. To do this with any level of skill is, I think, just not very effective.

I could write about my dog, but I don’t. I could write about my local dog-loving community, but I don’t. I’m not sure what the best way to convey this is. I just feel it’s one of those things where you can do well but its not something that is as good as saying it yourself.
