The more you know about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing) the better.
The term SEM is a little confusing, but I think you can separate it into two categories, Linked and Unlinked. Linked SEM is when your web site has links from other sites on the web. Unlinked SEM is when you don’t have any links to anyone on the web. Google’s algorithm looks at the quality of the links you have in your backlink profile and determines whether your site has a good chance of ranking high for a certain search term.
The link-building game is a lot like the chess game of life, only much, much bigger. You have to take calculated risks, while still being careful. It’s like playing chess, only with more time and a lot more pieces. It can be hard to play the game, but it’s a lot like chess, so if you just want to get better, you’d better start practicing.
In the game of SEO, you have three types of links: organic, paid, and referral. Organic links are the majority. Paid links are the majority. referral links are the minority. The game of SEO is about making sure that you’re getting links in the right place. Organic links are the most important. Paid links are the next most important. Referral links are the least important. But it’s still a game.
A big part of what makes Google so great is that they don’t care who their customers are. They care about the relationship theyre looking to build. So if you want to get good search engine ranking, you need to understand how to get people to link to your website. This isn’t just about getting links, but about the relationship you want to have with those links.
I’ve known SEO experts who have told me that they’ve never worked with a client who was on a relationship like mine. They don’t want to deal with any part of the process that puts you in the “negative” space. They want to build a relationship that’s as easy as possible, so they’ve always had good referrals.
Google is the “search engine” for websites, and they’ve set up a ranking system based on traffic and link building. And as you can see from the above graph, Google is pretty good at tracking link building and traffic (especially through Google AdWords). So, if you want to rank high in search, you need to focus on getting people who are interested in the product or service you offer to link to your page.
We’ve talked a lot about the importance of quality content and good content. But the other element of relevancy is also extremely important. If you build links that don’t bring the same quality of content and quality of link as your competition, they are no longer relevant to the searcher. In fact, you may as well just stop building links altogether. The more relevant your links are, the higher the relevancy factor goes.
It’s not a coincidence that it is in the business model of search engines, either. They are a business. They make money on people’s visits to their sites, so they have incentive to give relevance and quality to their links. If you want your links to bring relevancy to your pages, you have to add relevant points of entry into the search engines.
That’s easy. There are two options. Either you go with the low quality links that do no good, or you go with the high quality links that do no harm. There is no third option. There is only two options. Make a link that is useful and that will bring you traffic, or make a link that is harmful and that won’t bring you traffic.
